Just yesterday, I caved and finally bought the OPI/Nicki Minaj collection’s Did It On ‘Em which is a bright chartreuse colour (think Shrek green). I had probably seen it at the Scape flea stall for 4 weeks in a row but always held myself back. Silly girl.
And this morning before heading out to town, I thought back to this Forever21 “dress” that I had seen a week ago on the website:

Didn’t want to order it through an online spree because I kinda hate having to wait for a month before I can receive the item even though it might be sliiightly cheaper than buying it from the F21 store here, so I decided to try my luck at the 313@Somerset store and there it was! $29. That’s not too bad for an article of clothing from there in general, so screw it that it actually costs USD$17.90 only.

I wasn’t sure if I could pull off such a bright colour because I’m a white/grey/black with the occasional dusty green/pink kind of girl, but I tried the dress (it’s more like a long sweater) and I FREAKIN’ LOVE THIS COLOUR. I’ll have to wear a nude tank top with it because it’s rather sheer, and I don’t want to ruin the colour with a white or black underneath. Couldn’t find a nude tank at F21 nor Cotton On though.

So yeah. Here’s my “collection” of chartreuse items. I should probably leave it at that, hey?

Edit: I actually do have a Nike sports bra in this shade. Bought it in December. Dayum.

Had to rotate it to make it suitable for the header dimensions.

This is actually one super long chain with stars evenly spaced out on it. I have to loop it around my neck to make it wearable. It wasn’t cheap but it was the only thing I could find at Topshop on top of what my friend and I were already getting to make up the $150 spend for membership. I’m getting quite a lot of use out of it though, so it was all worth it. Yeah just a little side story for ya.

Side story: I got the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel because I read really good reviews of it, and had gotten a sample in my previous (and very first) Luxola order. I tried the sample for 2 days to make sure that it didn’t break me out (some reviewers said it broke them out), and bit the bullet.

Obviously this post isn’t about the cleansing gel; as I was checking out, I figured I would maybe get another Deborah Lippmann polish since it would be 30% off, so I looked at swatches online for her glitter polishes, and Across The Universe was totally up my alley.

It’s a gorgeous multi-dimensional polish that actually contains large and tiny blue & green glitter particles in a black gel base. It actually looks like the glitter is suspended on your nails in real life. At first I thought it was just blue and green glitter polish, but the swatches were out of this world (no pun intended).

I also made a stop this past Saturday at Topshop in Knightsbridge, Orchard. Had time to kill before my Lyrical dance class, so I decided to check out the lipstick that Zoella has raved about a few times on her YouTube Channel.

The colour is called Infrared, and it’s orange. Like, I’m not even kidding when I say that it’s ORANGE. Strange as it seems, but it’s actually a very flattering colour, and is a great alternative to a traditional red lip.

I can’t wait to actually wear this lipstick out!

Anyways, right off the bat, I LOVE the new box! It’s so much classier and not to mention more eco-friendly as it’s flatter. Ever since I got the first box in October, I wondered why they used such a big box for such small products, and the shredded paper stuffing didn’t do much either.

So yay for the new box! Here’s what was inside:

L-R, top to bottom: Dr Jart BB Cream, Belif Hydra Sebum Control Essence, Dr Dennis Gross Extra Strength Alpha Beta Peel, Herban Essentials Towelette, Pangea Organics Lip Balm in Pyrenees Lavender and Cardamom.

Contents-wise, I was excited to check out the Pangea Organics lip balm and to know what scent/flavour I got. Unfortunately, I received the lavender+cardamom one, and I’m not a fan of lavender at all. But I guess if I could look (or smell) past the scent, it’s actually a very good lip balm. I just tried it on and it immediately fixed my chapped lips (I’m ill at the moment so this is a good test). It doesn’t feel as waxy as my Banana Boat one, and I might just continue to use it at night in place of the BB one which contains SPF.

I’ve not tried the other products yet, but the Dr Jart BB Cream has been something I’ve always wanted to try, and I’d really like to see if the Belif Hydra Sebum Control Essence really works on my combination skin or not.

A couple more days to Chinese New Year! I doubt I’ll get another post up before then, so hope everyone has a prosperous new year and lots of ang bao!
